The Genesis Vicariate's Group 1 ("City) & Group 2 ("Polonia) have completed their TIF II Responses that will be given to the APC for review.

PREVIOUS UPDATES:

 

The APC has reviewed Group 1 & 2's Recommendations, and the APC Chair sent back a cover letter with their Evaluations of the Recommendations and Final Summary Questions that the groups will use in their final meeting(s) in November.

 

You will note that the responses include both narrative commendations, concerns and specific questions for each group to answer. Please review these materials carefully and come prepared to discuss them at the next meetings.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS INITIAL PLANNING

 

 

Alton James, AOD Central Region Coordinator had sent out the following email and files (below) in September before we started meeting to discuss the APC's Evaluations:

 

As we reconvene our fall meetings in September our focus will continue to be on the “Mission of the Church”. 

 

At a recent meeting of the APC where all of the final recommendations were collectively discussed, a consensus developed which indicated  that all of the planning groups needed to revisit and seriously discuss a stronger response to question #3 which focused on the APC goals and objectives for Evangelization & Catechesis, Youth and Young Adult, Christian Service & Outreach,  Leadership and Stewardship & Administration, as approved by Archbishop Vigneron and attached here.  Therefore the purpose of our first meeting will be to review all of the APC goals and objectives which specifically focus on the mission of the Church, and respond to question #3 as a planning group, within the greater context of what the Archbishop will do, what the Archdiocese will do, etc. 

 

Additionally, the Archbishop is asking that each parish / planning group / Vicariate address the issue of vocations.  Please review the attached documents from the Office of Vocations to prepare for this part of the conversation.

 

Each member of  the planning group should come prepared to provide their specific steps  regarding  the “parish objectives” identified in each of the plans which will then be collaboratively consolidated into “one” plan of action for the planning group.  Each of these plans will be instrumental in strengthening and fulfilling the “Mission of the Church” in Southeast Michigan.  In answering the questions, each planning group must identify the resources necessary to achieve the objectives along with any data supporting it.  This includes data regarding staffing and budgets.

 

We encourage parish meetings to take place prior to our TIF II group meetings to re-visit the six APC reflection questions and Question #3 of the Final Recommendation and address the issues in regards to: 

 

a)    What is being done?

b)    Where is it being done?

c)    How is it being done?

d)    By whom?

e)    When / How often?

f)     At what cost?

g)    With how many?

h)   What is the effect?
